Hi guys.

Well less than a week to go for the Mojave Trip, the only thing that has changed is the crossing of Soda lake. It looks like the NPS is not recommending going across, so we will head to Baker from the campsite drive down the 15 to Basin Road (not Rasor rd my mistake) heading towards the megaphone and back to the Mojave road, other reports are saying the river is 30-33" high, oh great!! LOL

It looks like the Soda Lake crossing has been removed from the list of alerts today. The Fort Piute detour is still in effect.

Fear not, our unstoppable trail leader always plunges into the river head first, for the good of the group and to gauge if we mere mortal behind him can handle it. Here he is last year, I think he got stuck in 8, perhaps even 12" of water.

I am getting pretty excited about this trip, the weather should be fantastic yet again... May not need my bulky sleeping bag at all this year, should be warm enough even at night.
