It's that time of year again- the Perseid Meteor shower on the night of August 13.Going to do the same run as last year- check the calendar for specifics. (trip sheet to be posted imminently)

Here's a summary.

Starting at the north end of Rowher Flat, off Bouquet Canyon Road.
Meeting at 7 pm. On the trail by 7:30.
We should get to the top in time for dinner before it gets too dark to see our food.
Fortunately, the moon will have set by the time we get to the top so it shouldn't interfere with our ability to the meteors, unless the sky is hazy.
We'll head back down the hill around 11 pm, and then head for home.

I look forward to seeing you all on the run.

See you soon.

Frank,

Are there places to camp on site or nearby? Heck it's a saturday night, might be worth just staying the night instead of driving home late.

I would probably be also interested in camping... Frank do you know if it is possible?

Camping is unrestricted anywhere in Rowher Flat OHV.
No real camping areas, though.
There are vault toilets at a couple of staging areas.
No water that I know of.

There are also camping areas around Bouquet Canyon Reservoir.
