Well, All in all the trip went well. 12 vehicles.
Day one on South Coyote canyon trail was a beautifull day.
Only had to tug one D2 out of the water, then reset the system after the soaking.
That evening at camp was cool with a few light sprinkles, good company and clear stary skies for a short time later in the evening.
Rain started about 4:30am wich prompted us all to pack up around 7 and we were on the trail by 8am with the 8 vehicles that braved the chance of rain.(less Mike Coronado who camped but headed home from there).
Just a short time in we lost Mark Wood in his D90 to a possible cv joint going out.(thanks Lou for seeing him back to the main road).
Made our way down Fish creek wash to sandstone canyon with 6 rigs, met Lou back at the trail exit for Devils drpoff.
Then John Short makes the desision to head out the wash due to a possible blown head gasket. I see from your post that it probably isn't. thank goodness for that.
The remaining six of us(+ passengers) brave devils dropoff, in the rain going up. It was muddy and slick, but we all made it up. then wound our way through Aroyo Seco Del Diablo, watching made sluff off the walls here and there. Passed the Hollywood and Vine sign, but didn't see the red carpet. made it out without incident,Just before the heavy rain started.
Thanks to everyone for coming along on this trip, I enjoyed everyones company and hope to see you all again down the trail.
Please post any pics that you would like to share.
