Thanks for the info. I just taked to my boss and he said that I can take off the weekend of the 13-15th of May because my birthday is on the 11th. My plan is to conquer as much of Hungry Valley as possible over the course of a weekend. The first day we would try to knock out all of the easy trails like powerline (the easiest rated trails) to see how the vehicles are handling the terrain. The second day we would try to knock out the moderate trails. On the third day, depending on how the vehicles handled the moderate trail, we could try the more difficult trails. My idea for the perfect trip is as follows:
Day 1: Friday, May 13th
Either meet up at hungry valley or other location.
Reserve Camp sites for the weekend.
Take down the easy trails like powerline
Mess around in the off road practice area
Set up camp, bbq, and socialize
Day 2: Saturday, May 14th
Set out to take down the moderate difficulty trails
Mess around at the off road practice area
bbq, socialize
Day 3: Sunday May 15th
Tear down camp
Attempt the most difficult trails, as long as the vehicles handled the moderate trails ok.
Mess around at the practice area
Head home around 1-2pm
Day three depends on how the trucks handled the moderate trails, and if I end up having to go to work between 3-5pm.
I can help plan / organize, but I would feel more comfortable with someone else actually leading the trip.
I have a few sponsors as well; maybe I can talk to them about doing something cool for those people that participate in the event. No promises, but it couldnt hurt to try.
If there is anyone that needs parts for their Rover, I can probably get you a good discount.
Here is a quick list of the kinds of things that I can get at a discount:
OEtuning.com (Performance chips, Dyno tunes, Superchargers / pulleys)
Gintani.com (Superchargers, Turbochargers, pretty much any kind of engine performance parts)
Lucky8llc.com (Suspension kits, OEM Parts, Rock armor, etc. They specialize in Land Rover Stuff)
If you are interested in helping my lead this event please message me so we can get this organized. Worst case scenario, I am still going to be going out there, so feel free to meet me there. Also it wouldnt be required to stay/ be a part of the whole event; especially if you do not want to go through some of the more difficult trails. Feel free to meet up during any of the day and I would be happy to accept you into our convoy.
Thanks again for all of your interest!
