Thanks for the link frank. I just ordered the radio you used on the DV trip. I recall it working well - alan narrating. Under a $100 with antenna.

I'm not suggesting that you use HAM over FRS but there's a better radio option in case someone decides to do upgrade to HAM at a later time.

I second that recommendation...I have two of them, cloned together with same channels. Works great with external antenna and speaker mike.
