Hey Everyone,

Is anyone going to the LR National Rally in MOAB this year? It'll be great to Caravan out together or meet there.

I am starting to make plans. I was thinking about leaving Los Angeles on Oct.17th and slowly making my way out there.

I was planning to hit Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Zion, on the way and get to Moab by the 19 or the 20th and returning by the 24th or 25th.

Since this is gonna be my first trip to these areas...
I will be very happy to take any suggestions dos don'ts (campsites, trails, hotels, restaurants, byways etc...)

Hi Mehmet!

Will be departing Riverside 0:dark:30 for the National Rally in Moab 10/19. It sounds like you will be taking your time. I'm taking a straight 12-hour shot to arrive by late afternoon. Been attending every year since 2005. The Rangie Classic is in the shop right now getting ready.

Hotel? Moab Valley Inn, of course. Restaurant? Moab Valley Brewing Company right across the street. Most of the National Rally freinds hang out there. Just be careful crossing the street because it is just south of town and tuning back into a four lane highway and cars are starting to go fast.

Check out Moab 4X4 Outpost. The retail parts section is OK but ask to take a tour of their shop. Room after room of customized fabrication going on there! Cool!

If this is your first time, DON'T charge up your Starbucks Card for Coffee en route. After Vegas there is nothing for 200 miles around!

I kept in touch with SCLR member Connal on the way back from last year's Leadville Rally. Remember that trying to get back home on a Sunday after check-out time south of Vegas after hotel check-out time is bumper-to-bumper slow! Connal said that getting back to LA to FOREVER!

Get ready for some breathtaking scenery and hope to see you there!
