Center.
RSVP
This trip is rated MODERATE not for stock Land Rovers. Your vehicle MAY suffer body panel and/or under carriage damage. If possible, please remove any air dams prior to the trip date. We will go as slow as necessary to get all trucks through with the least amount of damage. There is a by-pass route when we get to the rocky area. Stock Roveršs should not have a problem. Myself, Andy Cawte and James Mckain pre ran it on the 19th of August. We completed it in about three hours. There are many breakfast spots in Big Bear if you would like to grab a bite before we launch from the Discovery Center.
I will be providing a Carne Asada BBQ at my home after the trip with nice cold beer. When you RSVP, please let me know the approximate amount of guests you will have. I will be ordering the meat the day before. I want to insure I have enough for everyone. The address to my home will be provided on the trail. I am in North Fontana at the 210 and 15 freeways. It should be close to everyone for their trip home. Rudy, if I can get you to assist at the grill. It would really help a lot.
The Big Bear Discovery Center, at 11:00 am
The Discovery Center is located on the North Side of Big Bear Lake. Located on North Shore Drive (Highway 38) between Fawnskin and Stanfield Cutoff. When you get to the dam, from Hwy 18 go north and follow the road around to the north side of the lake. This will be Highway 38. The Discovery Center is well marked and has a large parking lot to stage us.
From the Big Bear Discovery Center we will head east towards the old Holcomb Valley Mine. This would be the starting point for Gold Mountain.
