Location
A top secret trailhead less than one hour from downtown LA!
Special Notes
This trip will be appropriate for all drivers, and for any stock Land Rover. Freelander drivers should have previous offroad driving experience. Offroad tires are recommended, as are diff guards, but are not required.
Climb off-road from suburbia high up into the 'Angeles Alps'. Trailhead approx. 1 hr from downtown L.A. Lunch at 6000 feet in the tall pines. This is a driving trip, with few places to stop, along a shelf road with many switchbacks. Easy to moderate rating, with two higher-difficulty side trails for the adventuresome. In higher elevations, the trail is cut into steep, rock-strewn mountiansides. Total about 4 to 5 hrs off road.
