Thursday May 24
Caravan to Chinle, Arizona on the rim of Canyon de Chelly

This is a travel day of about 10 hours. Mention SCLR when you make your reservation and get our club discount. $72 per night plus tax

Friday May 25
Meet our guide for an off road adventure to the remote site of the Navajo Painted Canyon. We will camp out at the sacred ruins of a forgotten Navajo city. Our Navajo guide will show us how his ancestors lived off the land.

Saturday May 26
Travel to the mouth of the Canyon De Chelly National Monument. With our guides we will cross into the deep canyons of Canyon de Chelly. We will forge the 1 to 2 foot deep rivers up into each of the two major canyons. We will be seeing ruin that you cannot see with out a Navajo guide. We will visit historical and sacred sites like Mummy Cave ruins, White House ruins, Sliding House Ruins and Spider Rock. Many of these site were home to hundred of Indians in the past and are still part of the Navajo nation. Saturday night we will have a traditional Indian dinner provided by our Navajo guide. After dinner around the five we might even have a dance by the local Indians

Sunday May 27
Leave the canyon and head to the Petrified Forest and Meteor Crater. We will spend the night in Flagstaff.

Monday May 28
Head home

Requirements:

Must have CB Radio or Family Radio
Camping Gear
Be prepared for cold wet whether in the Canyon
Hot days / cold nights
Lunch on the trail

Cost:

$200 per car. Include guides, permits, Saturday dinner and Indian fire dance to the beat of the drums. And Gerry's chest.
