West Mojave Desert

If there is a female in your Land Rover who is licensed to drive, SHE'S DRIVING! If not, well, it's OK -- guys are invited, too! Lady drivers of all levels welcome, as are stock and modified vehicles.
BLM Jawbone Canyon Visitors Center, Cantil, CA
9:30 am Orientation; departing 9:45 am
Located on west side of Hwy 14, approximately 20 miles north of Mojave
(For
those taking 395 north, consider gasing up at Kramer Jct, then continue on to
Randsburg, connecting to Red Rock-Randsburg Road. Jawbone Visitors Center is
about 2 miles south of intersection with Hwy 14.)
The "Lady Drivers" day trip encourages the women of the club to take the wheel, relegating those of the "lesser half" to the passenger seat for the day. We'll travel from Highway 14 to Highway 395 via interior trails of the beautiful El Paso Mountains. The trip will include a stop at the World Famous Burro Schmidt's Tunnel. Also we may see lots of spring wildflowers, you know, ladies stuff.
The El Paso Mountains are relatively local and make fine one-day destinations, and they are packed with hundreds of miles of trails in a small area. Those wishing to attend both Saturday and Sunday day-trips can find ample campsites & motel rooms close-by for a Saturday night stay.
